this is absolutely ridiculous!

How the heck did the Study Abroad Office mix up mainland China and Taiwan?! Study Abroad Office should be one of the departments on campus that knows the most about different countries! If a student who just doesn't read the newspaper and knows nothing about international issues gets confuse about this, fine. BUT THIS IS THE STUDY ABROAD OFFICE. I'm absolutely ashamed that the Study Abroad Office made this kind of mistake.
Page 5 of the Study Abroad Newsletter :
China- Annette Lu (Error 1: it should be "Taiwan- Annette Lu" or "Republic of China- Annette Lu")
As the first female Vice-President of China (Error 2: same problem), Annette Lu used her University of Illinois Master of Law (L.L.M.) degree to pave the way for females in politics. Lu was born in northern Taiwan, and studied law during her undergraduate career. She received an L.L.M. in 1970 from the University of Illinois, continuing on to Harvard Law School. On March 18, 2000, Annette Lu was elected to the Vice Presidency. If you are interested in China (Error 3) or investigating politics, consider the following programs:
(If the section title is "China- Hu Jintao", Errors 3 & 4 are not errors. BUT the title is Annette Lu)
SAO Exchange: Chinese University of Hong Kong
SAO Exchange: The University of Hong Kong
LAS/SAO Winter Break Course Abroad: GLBL 298, Shanghai, China
(Error 4: Hong Kong and Shanghai are in China, not Taiwan = the programs have NOTHING to do with Taiwan and Annette Lu being the 1st female VP of Taiwan!)
